The second I enter in one of my recipes and hit "done," the application crashes, and the recipe isnt saved. It took me several times to enter in just one recipe and have it there the next time I attempted to run it. This application has a multitude of possibilities - needs a notes area for each recipe for additives and the amount of fragrance oil, etc. Keep working on it!

This has turned out to be a good app for soapmakers. Its great for storing your different recipes, and has a wide list of oils to calculate saponification values. It would be great if they made an iPad version. I use one with my business and it would be great for displaying my recipe as Im working. If you make soap you will want this app.

I have had this app for a while and am still rather attached to the old one I use on my laptop because some of the features it offers simply arent available on this app yet... I say yet because knowing Brambleberry and the amazing people there (I have met these people and they ARE amazing), they are coming. Until then, I feel rather restrained when I use this app instead of my usual one. Some things I would like to see: The ability to work in different units OR percentages and easily change between these The ability to change water to lye ratios EO and FO calculations (I love the one on the website, implement it here please!!!) The ability to do working forumulas - when I pour in a bit too much oil (or worse, run out) I always recalculate the lye just to be sure everything is good to go) The ability to take pictures of the item and put it with the recipe The ability to use check boxes to mark what we have put into the recipe thus far (never seen it implemented anywhere, but have wished for this feature on more than one occasion) Get the first two taken care of and not only would I rate it a 5, but would probably stop using the other calculator!

Needs to be able to size up/down recipes. Needs to be able to convert oz to g. Needs to be able to input ingredients in g. Needs to include ingredients other than fats, like honey. Needs to let users input the amount of water or lye. Would love it if it had a calendar feature, so you can sync to your device and be alerted when the waiting time is up. Please update!

I agree with the previous reviewer. This app needs to do more. Needs password protection. Needs a function to checkmark off ingredients as a batch is being made. We should be able to input recipes by percentages. I would love it to alert me when a batch is done curing as well. Please update.

It would be a good application if I could get out of the recipes section! Does anyone know how I can get back to the main screen or home page??? Not very pleased about this...

While I recognize some peoples desire for a more multifunctional app, I do think this is a great tool worthy of 5 stars. Its the only app of its kind out of thousands of apps being offered. Since this is essentially version 1, it does have room for improvements, but I dont think that for the casual soaper that this is at all a bad application. I would highly recommend this to anyone. I look forward to an update in the future that gives me more functions but Im also happy with it if it stayed as is.

The program wont let me maneuver through anything other than the recipe section.... I just downloaded it & went directly to the recipe section and I cant go back to the home screen or see what else is on the app. I even clicked out of it and gone back In and it goes right to recipes. Kinda disappointing for a reputable company. I have no problem re- writing this review with a higher rating once I can get into it.

I used it quite a bit but its lacking key features that makes the app useful for more advanced soapers. If you added a lye concentration % it would add more value. As of now Ive outgrown it.

You sure dont get much for $5! Its too expensive for really only one function.

Great look, nice calculation - tho going by % would be nice. Id also like a place to add addl ingredients (like colorants, scents, etc) other than the notes section. A place to add photos for each recipe would be great too. Thanks!

She maybe a melt and pour queen, but she has no clue on cold process. Buyers beware, these recipes and calculator are lye heavy. What a rip off. Ann- Marie are you trying to get beginners hurt? None of the lye calculations are correct, what is the sense of the app? Go back to melt and pour!!!!!

This soap making app does what it says it will do: allow me to create functional recipes when I am not at my computer. Bravo! The user interface is easy (though Id like it to have a "new" button rather than the plus for new recipes and I think that the liquid soap recipes should clearly state that they use potassium hydroxide instead of sodium hydroxide). I trust future updates will continue to improve. A great app. I love the ability to save recipes and the ability to email them. Thanks.

Thank you for adding the notes section to the new version. It was well needed. I use this app frequently and appreciate that I can easily resize the recipes. Ive been able to get around the lack of %s by starting a recipe at 100 ounces and then changing the final amount once the %s are right. When the app gets the %s option without this workaround, my soap app life will be complete.

Just use notepad and look up a lye calculator online; this app is pathetic and a waste of money.

This app is very convenient as it automatically calculates your formulas right on the iPhone or iPad. You dont have to keep going back to the computer every time you want to tweak your recipe. I read the description of the app before I bought it and it does everything it says it does.

It does everything it says it will do. Very nice. I do, however, think we need to have the essential oils added as ingredients. Im trying to make a tea tree soap recipe and cannot add the oils as an ingredient.

This program doesnt work correctly - it freezes as well as other issues. I wrote to Brambleberry and I never heard back. I wrote again and asked for a refund - no response. Think twice before you buy - dont lose your money as I did.

I wish it was more like their calculator online... especially formulate by percent! Im a beginner at this, so maybe itll be more helpful to people with more experience.

Its nice to be able to punch in new recipes and save them to this app, and I really like how you can print straight from it. However, there are absolutely no options to customize this app, or to change the way it prints. It also crashes quite often mid-recipe. I use it a lot just to be able to have a portable soap calculator, and it is exactly that.... JUST a calculator. For the price, I was kind of hoping for more.
